Finally the boat is back in the water after the winter haul out, and it looks like we are right on time.

Fishing over the last month has been great, with some good numbers of Big Eye Tuna about. Boat have been lucky to get into fish of both good size and in numbers. 100kg tunas are here now, and so are the billfish!

Last Sunday saw the first blue marlin appear on the grounds, caught by local charter boat "Our Mary", a respectable fish going 750lb. The following day I was lucky enough to get a ride out with another local charter boat, "Balancal", skippered by good friend Anibal Fernandes. We got bit by a very stubborn Blue Marlin at 10.08 in the morning, just minutes after leaving the marina. The fish went 650lb and we also managed to get a couple of bites from smaller White Marlin or Spearfish in the afternoon, neither of which hooked up, but still nice to see them in the spread! Yesterday I went out and we managed to get a hook up from a White Marlin that managed to throw the hooks after a couple of minutes.

All in all things are looking good or the summer and I can't wait to get out on the "Explorer" next week with my birthday client! Lets hope we can give him a birthday to remember.
